A real home, with professional care
An adult care home is a licensed care setting that operates in a true home environment — not a purpose-built facility. In Kansas, adult care homes (including Home Plus homes) are licensed by the state to provide personal care assistance, supervised nursing services, and daily support for older adults who need more help than they can safely receive at home, but who don't yet require the level of care provided by a skilled nursing facility.
Graceful Living Home Plus is licensed as an adult care home in Kansas. We operate out of a comfortable brick ranch home at 315 Courtleigh St in Wichita, KS.
Why some families choose a small adult care home
Large senior care facilities can provide good care. But for many families, the scale and pace of those environments doesn't match what their loved one actually needs. Here's what a smaller adult care home like ours makes possible:
Truly known caregivers
Staff get to know each person deeply — their preferences, personality, and daily patterns. In a small home, that relationship develops naturally, not through a chart review.
Calmer, quieter environment
For people with dementia, anxiety, or sensory sensitivities, a smaller home is often far easier to navigate and less overwhelming than a large facility's hallways and activity rooms.
Flexible, personalized routines
We don't run a regimented institutional schedule. Residents wake, eat, rest, and engage on a rhythm that works for them — adjusted as needs change.
Real meals at a real table
Three home-cooked meals every day, eaten together as a household. Dietary needs are always accommodated — there's no tray delivery or cafeteria line.
What we do, every day
We handle the daily care so families can focus on being present — not managing logistics.
Someone is always here
Our home is staffed 24 hours a day, every day. You will never find our home unattended — a trained caregiver is always present and awake. Our registered nurse provides oversight of health monitoring, medication management, and care planning.
- 24/7 trained staff on-site at all times
- Registered nurse oversight for clinical matters
- Coordination with physicians, home health agencies, and hospice
- Proactive family communication when anything changes
Our home works well for older adults who need daily personal care and supervision, but who would benefit from a calm, familiar, home-like environment rather than a larger institution. This includes:
- Seniors who need help with bathing, dressing, or grooming
- Adults with early-to-moderate dementia or Alzheimer's
- Those transitioning home from a hospital or rehabilitation stay
- Adults who can no longer safely live alone but don't need skilled nursing
- Individuals who would thrive with consistent, familiar caregivers
Not sure if we're the right fit? Talk to us honestly — we'd rather help you find the best option than place someone who isn't a good match.
