An adult care home is a licensed care home in Kansas that provides 24/7 staffing, assistance with activities of daily living, and supervised nursing services—all in a home-like environment rather than an institutional facility.

The biggest difference is scale and setting. We operate in a small, intimate setting in a real house with shared living spaces, home-cooked meals, and relationship-centered care. Assisted living facilities and nursing homes typically serve dozens or hundreds of residents in institutional buildings. Our smaller size allows for more individualized attention, flexible routines, and deeper relationships between staff and residents.

We serve adults who need assistance with daily activities (bathing, dressing, medication management, etc.) and benefit from 24/7 supervision in a supportive home. Ideal residents value a home-like environment, enjoy small-group living, and don't require intensive skilled nursing or secure memory care.

We can support residents with mild to moderate memory loss who don't require a secure environment. However, if wandering or advanced dementia poses safety concerns, we may not be the right fit. We're happy to discuss your loved one's specific needs and provide honest guidance.

We provide supervised nursing services under the direction of a registered nurse, including medication management, health monitoring, and coordination with physicians. For skilled nursing needs beyond our scope (wound care, IV therapy, etc.), we work closely with home health agencies and hospice providers. Residents continue to see their own physicians for medical appointments.

Yes. All medications are securely stored and administered by trained staff according to physician orders. We coordinate with your pharmacy, track medication schedules, and document everything carefully. You'll never have to worry about missed doses or mix-ups.

Our all-inclusive rate covers 24/7 staffing, private or semi-private accommodations, three meals and snacks daily, housekeeping, laundry, activities, and all the services listed on our Services page. Additional costs may apply for specialized care needs, which we'll discuss transparently during the assessment process.

Medicare does not cover care in adult care homes. We do not currently participate in the Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver program, but we're happy to discuss private-pay options and help you explore long-term care insurance benefits if applicable. Yes! Family and friends are welcome daily. We encourage regular visits—you're not a guest here; you're part of our extended family. For overnight or extended visits, just give us a heads-up so we can plan meals and accommodations.

Absolutely. We encourage residents to personalize their rooms with favorite furniture, photos, and keepsakes. Just check with us first to ensure items fit safely in the available space.

We hold regular care conferences to reassess needs and adjust care plans accordingly. If care needs increase beyond our scope of services, we'll have an honest conversation with you about next steps and help coordinate a transition to a higher level of care if needed.

When we have available beds, we're happy to provide short-term respite care to give family caregivers a break. Availability varies, so reach out to check current openings.
