Frequently asked questions

A Home Plus is a small, licensed adult care home—a real house where a small group of adults live and receive personalized support. Unlike a nursing home or large assisted living facility, a Home Plus is designed to feel and function like a home, with consistent caregivers, home-cooked meals, and individualized routines. We are licensed to provide supervised nursing care and personal assistance. See how Home Plus compares to assisted living in Kansas.
We provide personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming), medication management, health monitoring, supervised nursing care, meals, housekeeping, and social engagement. We do not provide skilled nursing procedures requiring a licensed nurse on-site 24/7 (such as IV therapy or wound care), but we coordinate closely with home health agencies and hospice providers when additional clinical support is needed. Yes. We offer short-term respite stays for caregiver relief, post-hospital recovery, or a trial period in our home. Short-stay guests receive the same quality of care and attention as long-term residents. Availability is limited, so we recommend reaching out early if you're interested. Yes. We welcome adults with early-to-moderate dementia as well as more advanced stages, including residents who may wander. Our environment is secure, our staff are trained in memory care, and our small home means residents are always within easy reach of a caregiver. Each care plan is tailored to the individual's current stage and needs.
Yes—three home-cooked meals and snacks are included daily. We accommodate diabetic-friendly diets, soft or pureed textures, allergies, and personal food preferences. Just let us know at intake. See a sample weekly menu.
Our registered nurse oversees all medication management. We administer, store, and document medications, and coordinate with physicians and pharmacies as needed. Families are kept informed of any changes.
Families are welcome to visit during reasonable hours. We believe family presence is good for everyone, and we encourage regular visits, phone calls, and involvement in care planning.
We reassess care needs regularly. If needs increase beyond what we can safely provide, we work closely with families to coordinate a transition to a higher level of care—always with compassion and advance notice.
Care is provided month-to-month with a standard resident agreement. We accept private pay and medicaid. We are happy to discuss pricing, what's included, and financial planning resources during your initial consultation.
A Home Plus is a smaller, more intimate licensed adult care home — typically a real house, not a purpose-built facility. Assisted living facilities are larger and offer a different structure and staffing model. Both can provide personal care support, but they differ significantly in environment, scale, and feel.
